Daily Photographs #3

One of my favorite routes home from Wal-Mart (an almost daily run) is on this windy dirt road, intersected with railroad crossings.

So last night, Wally and I went out for a drive.  He ran and nearly yanked me over on his leash (held between my legs), while I photographed whatever I could.

It turned out to be another one of those situations where I really wished I had a high-quality telephoto lens. Or any telephoto lens for that matter.  I did what I could with what I had.

These photos are a little boring, but hey.  At least I did it.

(I don't know exactly why, but I think I like the colors of this one)

When I made it home, I realized I missed out on a fantastic photo opportunity!
On this particular dirt road, I got stuck.  Stuck stuck.  And I wasn't even off the road!  One tire was over a little too far- it sure didn't look like a ditch.
After much digging, trying to use floor mats for traction, and major frustration, someone finally ventured down this lonely road and stopped to help me.  All it took was a little push and POP! out I went.

Um, the tires might be a little balding... yes balding.  I refuse to admit that they're already displaying the male pattern baldness.  Wait, what?
It was a funny sight, that's for sure.  And I wish I would have taken a photo.  It's not like I didn't have my camera!

I'll learn.  Please don't give up hope.

Daily Photographs #2

Ok, so I didn't really take these photos today.  But I realized something.  What if I'm just in the office all day?  I may not get my photo of the day until after work hours, and then not be able to post the photo from that day until the next day.

So, I haven't taken today's photos.  I promise I will yet today.  And I will post it tomorrow.

In the mean time, I wanted to at least be able to share something with you.

So enjoy the newest excitement in my life: Wally.

Oh boy.  Would you take a look at those puppy eyes?

I swear, it doesn't stop sniffing.  Ever.

Um, Wally.  Would ya open your eyes already?

That snow's pretty tasty.  Admit it, you like it just as much as Wally does.

And that's the end.  (ha)

Daily Photographs #1

I've decided to make it a point to take at least one photograph each day for my own simple pleasure.  Doesn't matter what it is- as long as it isn't a work assignment.  Anything that catches my eye.

Maybe you'd enjoy seeing them?

Today I was on the road to Marshall, MN.  It was a very blustery day, with crazy blowing wind and poor visibility.  However, it made for some very interesting photos.

Along the way, there were some particular places that gave me a chuckle.

If you're looking for a modern place to stay, look no further.  Apparently, it's very nice.

I feel like I've heard this advice before.
Don't try taking the easy street.  It's nothing but a dead end.

Well, I'd say it was a successful first day of daily photos.

Red Lips

"It's better to be noticed for blood-red lipstick or bright blue eyeshadow...than to walk around with timidly applied, conventional makeup, looking like a great big question mark."
-Kevyn Aucoin, The Art of Makeup

Or, the one that always comes to mind when I actually do listen to that advice:

"Did a parrot explode on your face? SQUAK!!"
-My husband, Daft Moment in the Dating Stage of Life

Don't worry.  He knows better now.  :)  And I love him.

More wedding photos

Finally!

Here are just a few of the many many photographs I took for that beautiful wedding.

These girls had so much spunk!

Wasn't she a beautiful bride?

The sanctuary was just gorgeous!

She was just a doll.

Look at that smile- she's so happy!

They washed each other's feet.  I love the symbolism!

Always laughing :)

"I now pronounce you husband and wife!"

How fun!

I just love this.

The rings.

It was FREEZING out!

Best Man's speech.

Maid of Honor's speech.

First dance as husband and wife!

Now the guests join in on the dancing fun.

Spinning the bride before the bouquet toss.

These guys had dedication.  Again, it was FREEZING!

The big send off!!

Congratulations Andrew and Heidi!

Be Mine

Tyler and I celebrated our first Valentine's day as a married couple.  Saturday night, Tyler came home with a dozen red roses and a very sweet card.  And played Balderdash with me!!  (I will swallow my pride and tell you he won).

Then Sunday was date night.  We left Wally at home and went out to Olive Garden.

But, alas, we were not the only ones with that idea.  Olive Garden had a 75 minute wait- and a ten minute wait just for a "you have to wait" buzzer!

So we went to another restaurant.  It will rename nameless.  It wasn't good.  My monte cristo was just four almost burnt blobs dusted in powdered sugar plopped on my plate.  Not very appetizing...

Oh, and a tip for you.  Don't wear red, slick, stiletto heels in icy conditions.

I literally had to hang on Tyler's arm to get anywhere.

Girls and their insensible shoes.  Did Tyler even know what he was getting into??
