Fun day!

I had such a fun, girly day today:  I got my hair done in a practice updo for the wedding!

My friend Cara is such a creative, talented hairdresser.  I brought her a pile of pictures, each one so different.  And she took that and created a BEAUTIFUL updo!  Loose, low, and full of details.  I would post pictures, but again, I'm not going to.  :)
Instead I will post some of the "inspiration" pictures.
I went home, put on my veil, stepped into my shoes, put on my jewelry, and slipped into my dress.  I just HAD to see the finished look.  And I LOVE IT!!  I am so excited.  I wanted to just twirl around in my dress all night, but decided I better hang it back up before I somehow stain or tear it...

How sweet!

I had a very sweet customer come in the other day to have me custom design graduation announcements.

We got to talking and she mentioned that her son is going to Northwestern College in the fall. Once I explained that I graduated from NWC, a smile grew on her face.

Don't you just love meeting a fellow believer in your day-to-day life? Both of us just started gabbing and telling stories of how wonderful our God is.

When she returned later in the day to pick up her finished invitations, she brought with her a beautiful surprise: pink daisies!
Just to say thank you. So sweet. What a thoughtful Sister...

Invitations

I am so excited about the wedding invitations.

I am making them myself, which is becoming a bigger project than I originally had in mind.

They require a lot of assembly, but I am so happy with the end result.

crazy extended weekend...

So this weekend was a long one.

It started on Saturday morning when Mom, Ellie and I packed into my little car and drove down to Truman for the bridal shower. It was such a beautiful day and we had such a great time. We went over to Katie's house and Katie and I went on a long, super-fun walk. It was so great to get to know her better.

I then kidnapped Tyler and brought him back up to our house to celebrate Easter.
(see the fear in his eyes?)
We went to Church, ran off to the Pingree side of the family, and darted back to my mom's side. I was so glad Tyler got to come along and meet all of the Pingrees. And it was so fun searching for Easter Baskets with the kids (Tyler was the last to find his).

On Monday I had my first photo shoot with the magazine. I followed Katie from Waconia to Bloomington taking photos for articles. I was super nervous! Still am... :)

Monday night I scooted down to Truman again and then on Tuesday Tyler and I spoke to a banker and viewed a house! Oh it was such a beautiful house too: an old farm house on 10 acres. We are still looking into it, but I sure enjoyed it.

I went home Wednesday morning and worked on wedding invitations from the moment I got into the door until I left to discuss wedding music with Jessica and Rachel.

Ufda! I am finally back at work!!

First Bridal Shower!

On Saturday, the Peterson side of Tyler's family threw me a bridal shower.

It was so beautiful and it was so fun to meet everyone. To make it even more special, my mom and sister were able to come with me down to Truman. It made me so happy to introduce everyone!
This picture cracks me up. Somebody must have said something interesting!

It was so weird to be center of attention- head of the table, all eyes on me as I am the only one to open gifts. But it was sure fun. I can't wait to decorate my first home!

Wedding Planning...

So things are really coming along in the wedding planning department!
This was the inspiration for my bridal bouquet. Simple antique blue hydrangea with a white satin wrap around the exposed stems. My girls will be carrying white hydrangea. I am so excited about them! If you notice the filler flower in the bouquet, that's what the boutonnieres will be made of. The moms will also have freesia.

I love the simplicity of the bridesmaid's dresses. They are very simple, yet elegant. We are adding spaghetti straps to them.

The table settings will also be very simple, and each one slightly different, and I am loving the feel they will give to the reception. Imagine white linen table clothes and napkins, and hydrangea everywhere! Each table will have a vase or antique jar with a blue ribbon tied around it with one white silk hydrangea in it.
The three tier, square blue cake will have chocolate brown ribbon around the bottom of each tier and either white or brown silk hydrangea decorating it.

I would tell you about my dress... but I'm not going to. :)

Engagement Photos

Tyler joined me in the studio for some engagement pictures.

It was sort of a last minute idea, but I think we got some really cute ones!

First Blog!

So I decided to finally get my own blog. It just looked like too much fun.

And lately there has been so much going on in my life as I prepare to marry the man I love, move 3 hours away, and start a new job! There's bound to be some interesting pictures at least, right?
